Historic Maps

In the 1700s each atlas held a large fold out map of the world. Usually named 'Orbis Terrarum', Latin for Sphere of the World. These maps were coloured by skilled artists who highlighted boundaries, washed in oceans and mountain ranges, and delicately embellished cartouches. In this spirit we have obtained museum quality reproductions that are expertly hand coloured and come complete ready to hang with archival quality mounting and framing. They feature mahogany wood frames with fine gold leaf fillet detail, acrylic glazing and professionally finished backs, dust cover and hanging wire.
