Sopwith Camel Scale Biplane Model
The Sopwith Camel was a British First World War single-seat biplane fighter introduced on the Western Front in 1917. It had a combination of a short-coupled fuselage, heavy, powerful rotary engine and concentrated fire from twin synchronized machine guns. The Camel was credited with shooting down 1,294 enemy aircraft, more than any other Allied fighter in the First World War. This stunning hand built scale model has fabric attached to a lightweight wooden frame. Detailed engines, markings, spoke wheels. Finely detailed, but also conveying true feel and emotion. Size 26 x 38 x 12.5cm.
